Just something I notice a lot. Got a pantry at work where we get free coffee so there are a stack of cups and lids. People always seem to lift the first cup and grab the 2nd or middle one as if the first is unclean. Same with the lids. So now the lids end up all scattered on the tray since they don't stack well and no one wants to use them thinking they fell to the floor... But if it fell to the floor, it would've/should've been thrown it into the trash bin.

On the other end of the spectrum, I also notice that when I'm eating at a family style restaurant with a bunch of friends. When a dish that come in pieces get served, people will dive right in but when there is one piece left, no one wants to touch it. It looks so lonely. Even the waiter won't take it away because he thinks it would be rude to take a plate away that hasn't been cleaned yet. :(

I can sort of see where the train of thought for not taking the first of something is coming from, but the last piece of something? Fuck that noise. If it's there for a couple of minutes, and I want it, I'm taking it.
