I am starting to like this sort of 'journalism' : start an article referring to both sides to appear 'balanced', then add a personal opinion as a punch line versed as if a fact, and provide supporting facts in the form of a diarrhea of quotes from books published by whatever fringe you support (don't worry that those books themselves followed the same formula). Voila! A rational, hard-hitting article unmasking that skulking villain ____!

I think I could still make a good journalist if I can master that technique. Maybe publish a book or two, appear on TV, and add food for more threads on AT.

There is quite a bit of information in the Examiner series that has not been highlighted before.

It is an easy read and one can skip from one section to the other, so there is no reason for anyone who is interested in filling in some of the gaps imposed by the mainstream press to not read this.

I doubt it will change anyone's mind, but it does offer a more complete picture than can be found in the adulatory propaganda most have been exposed to.

"[T]here are known knowns; there are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know.
But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know, we don't know."

Considering the source, I didn't expect anything non-partisan

A few excerpts from the wiki
The Examiner is owned by Denver billionaire Philip Anschutz. Politico described the paper as "a megaphone for [Anschutz's] right-wing views on taxes, national security and President Barack Obama.
When Anschutz started the Examiner in its current format, he envisioned creating a conservative competitor to The Washington Post. According to Politico, "When it came to the editorial page, Anschutz’s instructions were explicit — he 'wanted nothing but conservative columns and conservative op-ed writers,' said one former employee

What is so hard about just reading the series?

Of course it will cover information that is non-adulatory.

But wouldn't you like to at least make an attempt to get a clue as to why some do not see Obama as all that much?

Sheesh, you spend more time researching why you should refuse to read the article than you would spend in actually reading it.

After I read the first few paragraphs I stopped. As soon as they pulled the "polarizing" card I laughed. Sorry when that's where a "story" starts yet ignores the republican effort to do everything they could do to stop Obama from doing anything... that right there shows it is a bias piece. Not saying Obama is perfect, he sure as hell isn't. But to ignore that huge fact is laughable.

He's no more that than you are. If this was not a piece largely critical of Obama you'd be saying the same things he did... and he'd be saying what you just said.

Not exactly pal. You guys had 2 years of free reign and only managed to dig us deeper into the hole, or atleast slowed natural progress. Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice...... The voters kicked you guys out in 2010 and put repubs in to put the breaks on the credit card spending spree, and even that couldn't be stopped.

LOL you guys want to keep using that same damn lie. Obama isn't responsible for even a majority of the debt, but keep telling yourself otherwise.

So then you freely admit that your party is entirely ineffectual?

Admission is the first step to recovery.

Yup, what would be so hard about listening to the Pentecostalists or Mormons when they come to my door. Hell, it would take no more time than going out to the barn and rolling around in cow shit.

If you would do so you might find enlightenment.

You are obviously not a sadhu.

Don't know about that. I read a lot of the stuff coming out of the left wing and "progressive" blogosphere. Some is interesting, some is not.

A recounting of some of the facts of Obama's background that are basically ignored and not reported in the mainstream press would seem to be both relevant and enlightening.

We know that the press is a protective and deflective shield for him, so that which can pierce the veil might be interesting to supporters as well as detractors.

This particular series is not really a spin on his background. It is providing little known facts and a more comprehensive backgrounding that serves to correct the propaganda spin that seems to have become alleged truth, a truthiness that is far from complete enough to be even close to the whole story.

I note that as this thread builds and builds that few have actually read the articles referenced in the OP and are instead content to attack the messenger.
