Yeah I have. Before that, probably a few months ago, some dude working at a grocery store I believe, in like Colorado or somewhere out west, claimed he wrote the entire American Idiot album in like 1994. LOL. I'll find the link...

I'd say "hear hear" but to be honest I'd rather not listen to either. Wonderwall would be my preference were I forced to choose but this kind of "controversy" happens all the time in music, both when bands can't think of a tune and rip it off (see also Good Charlotte stealing Nirvana's choons) and coincidence.

Boohoo, it has the same chord progression. Half the songs in popular music have the same chord progression. Half of Greenday's songs have the same chord progression.

Didn't they go platnum? at least Gold. Maybe just Plaid. I don't know. But they had hits so sombody liked them.
