Interesting the way the whole Murdoch empire moves in such a co-ordinated fashion. Almost as if "a free press" doesn't really mean what people pretend it means.

and money...
Which Florida man don't got. There's a reason the RNC was paying his legal bills and finally had to stop. What little liquidity Trump has he's hanging onto for dear life. He might still be a technical billionaire but if so, I suspect it is just barely.

The thing is, virtually anyone with half a brain knows this but Murdoch knows his audience and what gives them a stiffy. They may realize it's not the truth (in most senses of the word) but they like it.

Haha, at least not that we know. But T can always sic the Proud Boys or some other supremacist group on the repo folks. Not necessarily a joke either.

I think he can trundle along for the immediate future by virtue of all the cash the true believers still send to him.

I really hope those folks are ok though. They don't deserve this. They are in some sense, both foolish and noble in equal measure.

Very true. The part that bothers me is for about 20 years conservatives demanded we pretend that Murdoch’s properties were regular news organizations when it was always obvious they were ideological right wing propaganda tools.

Liverpudlians don't. Interesting that it had to involve football (even slightly-tangentially) for people to reach breaking-point, but I love Liverpool for this.

If Trump starts getting traction they're going to go right back to slobbering all over him again. F the Murdochs.
This is 100% true. They are trying to boot him now but in the end if he wins they will decide that the mentality ill, incompetent criminal is better than any democrat.

Best future I can see for trump is a couple decades of house arrest at Maralago.

Garland has his back against the wall and a few guns pointed at his head. Anything that doesn't create some sense of . . . IDK, justice? The point is that anything approaching a slap on the wrist for crimes that frequently spit out decade plus sentences . . . well, very simply, not gonna fly.

My personal guess is Trump dies before he has to report to prison as he’s going to drag everything out for years. That being said, he will spend the rest of his life trying to stay out of there.

Fuck that rag. They still suck even if they take digs at Trump. None of it comes from any type of good place.

The sad bit is how much it has fallen. It was founded by Hamilton and had a good rep, not to mention a liberal leaning in the middle of the 20th century. Murdoch's purchase might have helped the paper's finances, but trashed its reputation.

He did not help its finances. It is widely believed to be a huge money loser; Murdoch keeps it to wield political influence.

edit to add a semicolon as of course it’s important to let people know I went to college.
