I still like reading on e-ink screens much better, but I am curious to see what happens when this gets rooted.

Meh - I'd have been impressed if it were color e-ink. To me, the biggest draw to the e-reader is the e-ink. Pretty weak battery life (8 hrs with wifi off, presumably much worse with it on), and apparently it still has slow page turns, which is one of the drawbacks of e-ink!

No 3g? It was promising until I saw that.

Bah, couldn't care less about 3G. There's so much wifi around here that you can't swing a dead Kindle without hitting a hotspot.

I'm kind of excited about this, a 7" Android tablet from a reputable company for $249 seems like one hell of a deal. Being LCD and not e-ink is cause for concern, even if it is IPS, but I'll reserve judgement until I see it. If it's as good as I hope, I'm buying one.
