The Non-deluxe P5K

It's at the egg for just $150 but it can be found for under $130 on a lot of sites.

The question is, how good is it? Reviews only cover the deluxe version so I have no idea how it overclocks. It has most of the features, although the voltage dampener doesn't really work. The cooling looks decent, but the board itself is ugly as hell, which might matter to some of you.

Any thoughts? Especially from owners.

u mean the gold Asus P5K ? ...friend of mine just upgraded to that with E4300, and using a borrowed 1Gb stick of generic Ram. It looks quite good to my eyes, only thing i dont like is only 4 satas instead of 6.
Hes running 3Ghz @1.35v...solid as a rock, stock intel HS. The Nth Bridge feels very cool to touch, as is the heatpipe/sink at the top left of board. This is my 1st experience with core2duo......and i must say this thing literally flys 😉
During installing a game, msn running, downloading some files, opening windows galore......i saw no hang whatsoever (only 1Gb Ram remember...) This is with Windows Vista (512Mb usage@idle!), he originally loaded XP and said it felt much quicker 😛
If it has enough I/O for u, then it comes highly recommended... bios fixes are needed though, as temp readings can be all over sometimes, i guess thats latest tech for u

It's a good board... good overclocker... there is an article on xtremesystems forums of somone posting some rediculously high FSB.

for that price i would say u can't go wrong
