Alright, so Im a dumbass, I've already made this realization. I should ALWAYS fucking record teh show right after the fucking football games. Ya know why? Cause the fucking football will NEVER EVER EVER fucking end in its allotted time slot. Whoever programs these guides does it just to fuck with people who DVR football games. Yes, Im a fucking dumbass, I should have realized this. I was in a hurry.

So Im here watching my green bay/giants game and the fucking DVR stops recording at about 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter. THE FUCKING GAME WENT INTO OT AND GREEN BAY LOST?!?!?!? Fuck, was it a good game? I don't fucking know cause the douche bag guide programmer assholes fuck with people who own a DVR!!!!

I'm pissed, oh and PS - Fuck the Giants, Cowboys shoulda won that game

/rant

*EDIT!* MOVE TO OFF TOPIC PLEASE.... My girlfriend signed into L&R and I didn't notice!!! (I wouldn't come here on my own!)

Edit: Moved to OT on request of OP

(1) I agree that the OP is in fact an idiot & should have known better .. NFL games always run over.

(2) The Cow-Pies got bitch-slapped by a team giving 100% effort .. somthing they couldn't be bothered with since they wrapped up home-field.

Muhahaha forget DVRs. So overrated. I record with my PC. I just throw in an arbitrary # like 5 hrs. I always assume there's a possibility of 3OT or whatever.

There is no cure for stupidity, but a vasectomy may stop its spread.

They could always limit the length of game to oh, I don't know, 60 minutes? And then have them NOT last 3 hours.
Blame the sport for being stupid, not the schedulers.

Sports are meant to be watched live, not DVR'd...

Is this your first time recording an NFL game though? You should know that it always goes past its scheduled timeslot.

I always add an extra 30-45 minutes on the end when recording an NFL game.
Why, you ask?
Because I've actually watched an NFL game and realize that they tend to run long.

I'm a Packer fan, but the Giants earned their victory. They simply executed better than Green Bay.
Sorry Brett :(

You know, you can set your DVR to record beyond the scheduled time for specific shows right? I always have mine record 1/2 hour past the end of all the F1 races because they sometimes go long and I like to see the driver interviews.

Edit-And it was a great game! ;)

My time warner DVR sees that it's a sporting event and asks if you want to add record time, and then how much time. Before I moved I had comcast and I would just tack on extra time, or record the show that was on after.

Eh? My TimeWarner Cable DVR allows me to extend recordings w/o doing the stoopid "record next show" stupidity. I *always* record an extra hour for a football game. OP, you don't deserve to rant!

It'd be nice though if there was a way that the cable companies could send a signal to dvrs that the scheduled program is running long and the dvr will automatically keep recording until it's over.

One can wish. :(

The first couple games I recorded the same thing happened to me. I've learned to do what the others do and tack on extra time.
