Argh!! had to be a weekday! You think I have time to chuck up I-95 from Rosslyn, VA and then make it back to Reston??? Damn :(

Oh well, my bro will be there for sure, he lives in Canton and he's in between jobs...so the only thing holding him back is sleeping in. Besides it would be really unfair to the rest of you guys if 3 people in my family won....my sister won up in Philly and the XP found a nice home in my box...the rest of it died a painful death on fleabay. :)

I've been living under a rock i guess, what is this? Do we have to sign up online to be able to get into the event in baltimore? or can we just get in... also do we need to know anything about the products to win the prize in the live event or is it just a random raffle drawing.

They stop handing out tix at 6:10am and start raffling shortly afterwards. You don't need to know anything to get a ticket and win. I'm still debating whether or not to crash the nite before at my bro's apt in Canton. Rdaneel are you in the City? I'm across the bridge in Rosslyn....that hike back to work is gonna be a pain the arse though, and I heard the AMD guys take their good time calling out ticket numbers.

Hey hey... I thought Baltimore was the forgotten city. :) Might be showing up, since Wednesday is the day right before Thanksgiving break for us college people. Nobody goes to class on Wednesday :)

The problem is I'll have to take a cab up to White Marsh... there goes $30 or so. I'd better bring a few friends along. Anyone from around Hopkins (Homewood)?

Chizow, my gf is in Parkville right south of Towson. Should be only a 15-20 minute drive to White Marsh. Very excited.

Anyone know how many prizes they raffle off?

Sweet, I'm there, or at least my wife will be. She works about 5 mins from White Marsh Mall so I'll let her do the waking up early and fighting with the geek crowd instead :).

Here's the link:

AMD Extreme Performance Tour

I been stakin the Baltimore giveaway for a while, just came at a really bad time :( You know that you could tell all the host cities from day 1 right? On the map, the cities would pop-up, just no date.

SUOrangeman, from what my sister told me, and what I've read on some of the review sites that attended, it takes about an hour. 50 XPP kits, with CPU, mobo, and HSF. 1 Falcon NW gaming box. They toss out t-shirts and other stuff as well. Apparently the AMD guys take their good time calling out ticket numbers, torturing the crowd, causing the hordes of geeks to get all riled up. My sister said she got a good kick out of it.

I came. I saw. I laughed. I left empty-handed.

The shirtless guys will be ill before the end of the day. The emcee looked like Steve Ballmer and I claim that he throws (t-shirts) like Grbac.

Should I be happy that I never made that 45 miles drive to Baltimore? How many attended? How cold was it? :)

it was so cold, so crowded, so crazy... and so worth it.

and now i have to figure out how to raise the funds to case and dress up this badboy of mine. =)

it probably wouldn't have been worth it to drive hours to get there though... there were so many people... doesn't seem like it would've been worth it.
