French Fries (pure carbs)
Hamburgers (the bun/bap whatever you call it is just bread, which is carbs)

First of all, french fries are about 30% calories from carbs, they are deep fried TWICE in oil.

Biggest problem with hamburgers are the condiments, not the meat/bread combo.

Carbs isn't a problem and removing them and replacing them with saturated fatty acids is most CERTAINLY not going to yield any good results.

Apart from this being COMPLETE BS it's also a dangerous piece of crappy information. High fat diets WILL force your muscles to burn ... themselves.

See muscles can't use ketones for fuel so fat isn't being used for fuel except by your brain, all other fuel comes from muscle tissue being broken down because amino acids CAN be converted into glucose (some of them).

High amounts of saturated fats will also inevitably lower your insulin sensitivity causing your body to produce MORE insulin.

It's been a cute trend but a better option is to eat normally but less and if you are seriously obese, fasting two days a week is a great idea.

This idea of "being hungry" because you have low glucose levels isn't really something someone who isn't morbidly obese with a severe case of type II diabetes has to worry about, it's much more likely that you will overeat from a saturated fat -- carbohydrates from starch combo.

This is completely contradictory to anything I've ever heard on the subjects. Any other forum members care to comment?

Type II diabetes is correlated with higher carb intake, not higher saturated fat intake. I have never heard of anyone developing diabetes on a high fat diet. And neither have I heard of people losing muscle mass on a high fat diet, although it must be noted that high fat diets still include protein.

We have every right to ridicule, shame and humiliate fatties. Personally, for my part, it's coming from a good place. I hope they prove me wrong and lose the weight so they can be healthy, attractive people.

The first sentence is a disgusting thing to say, and the second and third in no way justify it. :|

A question for people in the US - in the UK, if I order a steak in a restaurant, the menu will typically list its weight as being 8-10oz. While some restaurants will list an option for a larger steak, 8-10oz is by far the most common size available. What's the typical size in the US, out of curiosity? Is there some variation depending on the class of restaurant?

~10-12 oz at the places I frequent, with cuts up to 16oz or so.

No it's not. I'm trying to save their lives and improve our society overall.

In 1903 people paid money to see this guy at carnivals. You're telling me our genetics have changed so much in the last hundred years? Horseshit. People are lazy.

But really you're just taking the piss.

That sums things up really well. We've normalised being overweight to the extent that obesity just isn't noticed or people just describe themselves as "a little thick" when in fact they are dangerously obese.

Fat people are disgusting and their appearance reflects on their own mental issues and lack of self control. THere are a few, rare instances where people are actually medically sick and their thyroid and metabolism goes nuts but that's 1/1000 not 1/3 like these disgusting clay charicatures of humans i see waddling and rolling around.

Its just another excuse to eat anything. They've created their own social construct around stuffing their fat faces.

Hey Nebor you have shamed ok? Are you happy. What else can I do to make this continual harassment stop? Should I put a bullet to my head, will you feel better? Because what I want is to please you, that is to not offend you.

Bullshit. You're trying to make yourself feel superior.

Shaming doesn't help people change, and very often has the opposite effect.

How about just stop stuffing your face?

Ok!

Who next please? Please show us your level of maturity. If it makes you feel better belittling other people please pile on! Thats what anonymous forums are for.

The fact that you see being called out on obesity as "belittling" just shows that deep down you know its bad.

Airlines have attempted to charge double for obese passengers whose girth extends beyond the armrests. While this is clearly commonsense, since not doing so penalizes paying passengers of normal weight, such policies are met with scorn and even lawsuits by those lobbying for obesity-without-consequence.

Pretty hard to argue that other people being obese doesn't affect me with facts like that:colbert:

No shit sherlock I never said it wasn't but does that give the right people to be assholes You make it personal as if these people are going out of there way to offend you personally. You think thats high on their list of things to worry about? Believe me its not and they know. And when was the last time you had to deal with a fat person on an airplane? Please.

I don't know. When you boil it down to basics social mores have always been enforced with shaming to start with.

It's not that hard... eat less, move more

If you get as much food as you normally do, stop eating half way through and save the rest for the next day.

Instead of sitting on your ass all day, get up and go for a couple mile walk.
