i never really liked the viper anyway. nothing amazing about 8L v-10 producing a lot of hp and torque.

WTF???!!! HP and torque is HP and torque. It runs circles around the Vette. If that's the case, you could rag on the Vette b/c it produces 350 HP from 5.7 liters while the BMW M3 produces 333 HP from 3.2 liters.

Petty, petty, petty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True, or an F1 car producing what they crank out of < 2L.

Amazing is the fact that the viper will kick your ass around town without even breaking a sweat!

I think it was the Viper i heard you can drive in 3rd gear all the time, ample torque for starting from a stop and the rpm at highway speeds are only like around 3k or something.

the corvette is much better because the viper is much more difficult to control at high speeds. the in car navigations are pretty poor is you ask me

All Shelby designed cars are a little rough around the edges, but make up for it in hp/torque. The new Corvette is much more civil at high speeds, but who really has a chance to go >150mph to compare them? Both give near supercar performance at a relative pittance of around $60,000.

Viper's a bit more than 60K, but I agree with you on your other points, Gary.

So, where do I pick mine up? :p

thats why the m3 has always been my dream car, especially the 2001 model. american muscle cars just don't do it for me.

<---Would much rather have a Corvette ZR-1 than Dodge Viper GTS. That's not say I wouldn't be ungrateful if I won a Dodger Viper GTS:p. Of course...if given the chance to own a BMW M3 Convertible...hmmm

most bang for the buck? fbodies. (Camaros/Firebirds/Trans Ams) same LS1 engine as 'vettes ('cept for the Z06 w/ LS6), and MUCH less expensive. for the price difference between the vette and a new fbody, you could put enough mods on a trans am to have you running in the 9's. :)

Don't forget Stangs they got thier own section at most performance places just for the 5.0/4.6.. Totally agreed though Bang for the buck and Mods is the best way.

Buying out of the box speed is okay I guess... but only if your old or don't know anything about cars :)
