well, i was just watching airheads on comedy central...

with all the "kids" and their loud music, when they get older, they will have hearing problems.

I was thinking now would be a good time to start investing in companies working on hearing loss solutions.

The only thing I notice is more powerful stereos in cars. And hip-hop emphasizes the bass much more than the classic rock of the last generation.

Unless I am mistaken, the mid-range and high notes at high volume are much more damaging to the ears than the bass.

I used to listen to music LOUD. Lots of concerts (I remember going to see Ted Nugent about every other week in Winterland,SF and generally sitting on the stage right in front of the speakers).

Well, I started to lose my hearing. It was gradual but noticeable. However, there is hope with acupuncture. After 1 year of treatment by a master acupuncturist, my hearing has completely regenerated.

<< How is it that this generation has had louder music then past? >>

Right...I know very few people who listen to their music extremely loud...but those people sure have a way of getting noticed

But in cars they are generating more pressure with the bass which is what is causing the damage.

Ugg, you sound like my mother. Shes always bitching at me to turn down my music because I'll go deaf, and proclaims that I am deaf already, yet I listen to my music at a lower volume than 99% of my friends, and they dont have any hearing problems. I dont listen to my music "loud," I listen to it at a comfortable volume so that I can hear every note without feeling any sort of discomfort. And if being comfortable is going to cause me to go deaf, then (insert witty comment here)
