My friend wants to get a GeForce 2 GTS 32 meg Video card right now, but I'm trying to convince him to wait a little while, cuz he already has a GeForce 2 MX... do you guys know of any links that would relate to a next gen Videocard that would but the GTS to shame that I can show him so that he'd wait for a while longer? thanks
 
He wants a non-DDR and he has an MX already? That's insane. There is no way in the next year that the performance difference between those two cards will make a rats ass off a difference. The memory is the bottleneck, and only a DDR based GeForce 2 GTS would be a practical upgrade.

Tell him to wait a while. Then ask him to buy you dinner with all that extra cash he apparently has laying around.
 
He already has a geforce 2 mx, and is thinking about getting a geforce 2 gts which IS a ddr board. Unless he's going to drop some serious cash and get a ultra or something search the forums for nv20 or rampage. You should be able to find leaked specs on these. Also tell him that directx 8 is out and he should wait for video cards that will support those features to be released.
 
Radeon only supports a fraction of the features in DX8, so if DX8 compliance is your primary concern, the Radoen is not the card to get(nor is the GTS or V5 for that matter).

And no, if he has a MX I'd definately wait for the NV20/Rampage.
