Watched the intro scene. Turned it off for tonight. Just didn't feel like it. Typical Sorkin show even in the first 3 minutes. Main character gives massive, impassioned, emboldend speech with no pauses and sounds ridiculously smart. I'm just not in the f*cking mood for it tonight, is that ok with you Sorkin?

BTW, this should totally be on a different night. True Blood lead in will do nothing for this. But, it's HBO and they have different rules about such things.

Edit: 3,000! Whoop, whoop!

I really enjoyed it. Should be a great show for years to come. The old guy has some funny lines. "How long has it been since you've seen her"? Sorkin "about three years" old guy "Well its been about that long since you've been nice"

Or something like that :D

Excellent. Say what you will, but Sorkin pens some of the smartest and meatiest dialog going.

Btw, all w/o access can watch the entire first episode legally and for free on YouTube.

Some people actually do, believe it or not. I've known two or three, people who could make me feel like a monosyllabic mouth breather in comparison.

But Sorkin writes these as set pieces, near Shakespearean monologues to be memorized and delivered by his actors.

3 horses died. RSPCA lost their shit and demanded the show be shut down.

HBO didn't want the hassle so cancelled it. Terrible ratings didn't help.

But man, that show had mega potential. It definitely could have been the another Deadwood.

EDIT: Replace RSPCA with your equivilant animal protection org.

I just got around to watching it last night - I enjoyed the show. Sam Waterston delivered a good performance.

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.

Seems to me that people generally like the show, but critics and reviewers hate it.

Gee, I wonder why? It's the same reason doctors cringe at medical dramas, cops with crime dramas, and lawyers with courtroom dramas. Too many people take fiction as fact and writers don't care about reality. Then again, since when has reality ever been good television?

Reporters need to realize that it's a show and Sorkin obviously has the hindsight of viewing the past with a 20/20 lens, but that doesn't stop it from being good TV.

Stupid people don't like it when it's pointed out to them just how stupid they are. It would be nice to have the world be something like what Sorkin writes in his television dramas. At least it's something to watch until Olbermann gets back on TV.

So - what did you guys think about episode 2? The dialog was downright intense with some moments that were hilarious. I think it's off to a good start :)

I thought the speech in the opening scene of episode 1 was spot on for what's wrong with our country today.
