<< Question: Why isn't this an Audi A6/A8??? Why is this a Volkswagen again? I thought Volkswagen was "the people's car"--i.e. for the masses. Is it just me, or does this car mark the end of European socialism and the beginning of a rich new kapitalist (with a k!) Europe? >>
VW and Audi are being separated more. VW and Skoda will be the "Classic" brands, whereas Audi and Seat will be the "Sport" brands. Classic-brands and Sport-brands are not going to share as much components between them as they are today, so they will have more distinct looks. That's evident even today: Skoda Octavia has the interior of VW Golf/Bora, whereas Seat Toledo/Leon has the interior of Audi A3.
