What's with the Ksyrium wheel on the front in the finished pic? Also, you have a carbon Record brifter on the left side of your bars but an alloy one on the right? 😕

Why did you go with the alloy seat post on the finished pic instead of that carbon post you had in the earlier pic?

It looks like.....a bike.
Nothing gets by you, does it?

the colors didn't impress him...what shade of blue is this? Blue smurf?

Sweet bike, Fausto.

The color is typically known as Celeste..........a Bianchi green known thorugh out the bicycling world. Very distinctive. Very Bianchi. You see the color and instantly know it's a Bianchi.

Yup. This is why (considering Bianchi is a sponsor) we had no options other than Celeste for the frame color.

I used to really hate it, but it's honestly kinda growing on me. 😱

I'd rather run that risk than be the average guy who can't even see his wang (thanks to a gut) and is too out of shape to go more than 5 minute in the sack anyway. 😛

You may not remember me, but if you use to have a Triumph 955 in yellow we did talk
several years ago.

Bianchi has a History to be proud of that goes back > 120 years. They did fairly well for
awhile racing motorcycles. Their first motorbike was produced in 1903, the same year
HD knocked out it's first. I'm sure you realize this but others may not.

The point ?? Bianchi green (celeste ?) is an integral part of their History that dates back
to I don't know when.

I think it is because that the zinc chromate paint used for good coverage and excellent protection
it offered aluminum. Moto Guzzi used a slightly darker shade of green zinc chromate on
the dustbin fairings used on their racers, including the V8.

Because zinc chromate offers such good protection with such a thin lite weight coat, why
add weight of a color coat?? I think that's how the thinking ran at the time.
The color stuck.

Glad to see you're still a racer  but put down the pasta when the racing days
are over or you know what will happen 😀 A buddy of mine still eats like he rides centuries.

Shave your legs and ride well. Correct me on the color or fill in the blanks if you can/will.

Yes, my utility room is a disaster. 😛

Bianchi@50%

Edit- finished building it over the weekend and pretty much have things tweaked the way I want them. Rides damn nicely for such a stiff frame. 😀

Freccia Celeste goodness.

I feel really bad for not riding my Specialized S-Works as I used to. Damn.... I need to go on a ride again. 🙁

So get on it, biotch! 😛

I couldn't find anything definitive on the color.

The exact origin and birth date of Celeste is lost in time and conflicting legend. Whether Edoardo Bianchi saw Celeste as the color of the sky over Milan, or whether he saw it as the color of Queen Margherita?s eyes; whether it was a carefully formulated shade of blue-green or the bargain purchase of some surplus paint; it depends on which legend you chose to believe.
