I have a Dell XPS R450 system, I know dell sucks for towers but I want to upgrade it. I know what to do already for the pinout of the power panel and its a standard ATX case, I have a new PSU in it already so Im essentially ready to upgrade (Currently has a Powerleap 1.4GHZ Processor,512MB Ram,All In Wonder Radeon 9800Pro with Original MOBO). So my question is should I get the first few or at least the Last ATX, New PCI Express Mobo or get a socket 478 mobo with a P4. If I get a mobo for Socket 478, I plan on getting the Intel Chipset 875P Asus Mobo. Im staying away from third party chipsets especially SIS since I had HORRIBLE Stabilty problems and still does when I bought my cousin's family a COMBO board at frys. It was a P4 2.8 533FSB (I know its sh!t but the family is cheap) Abit SG-72 SIS, it was a Chipset like 648 or somin like that. For the PCI express board I may have to use a third party chipset because of the AGP 8X but I want to stay away from them unless I can be convinced one is stable, I cant use an Intel for PCI Express because the boards with AGP 8X use the PCI Bus which would suck a$$. So its get an unstable PCI Express mobo but AGP 8X is running at correct Transfer Speed, Get a stable PCI express mobo Intel Chipset or get an ASUS Intel Chipset 875P with Socket 478. BTW if you didnt realize why I want AGP 8X, I need it for my All In Wonder RADEON 9800 Pro since its "Sweet" Card (According to most ppl).
Also if anyone wants to answer this question, is it just me or does the Radeon 9800Pro Series under perform compaired to other ppls machines. Have an 8200 as well with a Radeon 9800Pro and gets a nice 3D Mark score 13k (2001SE) and 5K 03 but its a b!tch when it comes to games. The 8200 as a 1.7GHZ Processor, 640 ram and nice HDD, but when i play like CS,Raven Shield,Call of Duty etc.. I get a lot of D3D stuttering when the DUDE is running. For example, the guy is running towards the wall and as he is running he will jitter back for a second which is strange since I thought they fixed it with this card. So please help me k? I have the latest CATALYST drivers as well.:frown:
