i like that jag.

"...it doesn't actually work..."

oh.

are there any working 4 electric motor + turbine + battery prototypes?

yeah, absolutely loved that 911 lineup

I know a lot of people criticize the fact that the design has not changed very much over all of these years...but that is part of the appeal to me. I love that they have kept with a classic design and constantly honed the mechanicals.

Anyone catch the recent TG? With the three-way showdown between Bentley, Rolls, and Mercedes? Anyhow, another fun episode as usual, but Clarkson made me lol with a really dumb observation as usual, and I'm quite sure he knows better, but he just doesn't like Subarus I guess :

He was expaining that this hopped up special edition WRX/STI had a lot of turbo lag, and his brilliant way of showing it was to floor it in 5th gear at 50mph. Which brought exactly the expected result, very little acceleration at all. One would expect any competent driver in a manual-shift 4cyl car to know that you have to pick the appropriate gear to get the desired result, otherwise you'd just get an automatic, right? It's actually a good thing that the car doesn't go bananas at 50mph in 5th gear, because it's nice to be able to have some fuel economy and stay out of boost when you're just cruising around. Of course if the car had a massive V8 or a diesel, the torque would have been there to get it moving, but blaming the car for not taking off with those circumstances is dumb. It will happen to any car with that kind of powerband. If he had dropped it to 3rd, things would have been massively different of course.

The Focus looked really out of sorts out there, I'm just not that fond of the newer ones. It was doing the three-wheeled shuffle round corners, and of course it got defeated by the superior Subaru when the Stig ran them through the ringer.

Meh.

/weak rant over. I still love me the hell out of TG:UK, but obviously dumb comments sometimes bug me a little.
