Yup, the boxy taillights in the back really bother me for some reason.
The new Maxima is just fugly. I've only liked the look of the 2003 and prior Maximas.

Looks pretty plain, needs some exterior mods atleast, but seems like a good car.

news flash: the sentra competes with the civic and corolla.

the versa competes with the fit and yaris. and C&D already determined that the fit is the best of the bunch. they thought the versa was comfy, but the fit was by far the better driver's car.

the big question for ATOT will be if the SE-R (assuming there is one) can compete with the acclaimed Civic Si.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. All of the cars have advantages and the roominess of the Versa compared to the other two is a major plus imho.

Not so much. A loaded Yaris and Versa can cost as much as a vanilla Civic/Corolla or Mazda3. (or within $1-2k range)

These things just get a little bit better mpg.

well, i think the OP's point was the sentra can get some pretty nice gas mileage, which is the whole argument for the yaris/fit/versa. that's what I was getting at anyway. ok, yaris and co. are a little cheaper, but right now, it seems you'll be paying MSRP or more. and they're ugly.

ya.. thank you... you know me well :)

on top of that, I sometimes see a Toyota Matrix & Corolla priced at around 14k, which is what a fully loaded Fit/Yaris/Versa would be. and Corolla's Gas Mileage is not THAT much worst off.

Engine 2.0-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder
135 horsepower (estimated)
140-plus lb-ft torque (estimated)

from www.nissannews.com

already not really interesting, makes less power than civic, despite using DOHC, more displacement and gets much worse mileage.

It does make a little more torque but 12 lb fts more is nothing incredible considering all the above advantages.

Also, again nonindependent crappy beam suspension in the back.

That is one ugly econo sedan.

Of all the econo sedans I'd rank

1a) Mazda 3
1b) Corolla S version(the current one)
3 + 4) Civic and Jetta
The rest are bland.

I like Nissans, after owning 2 nissans, I purchased a Honda and a Toyota. After my experience with the Honda and the Toyota, I think my next car will be a Nissan again.

After owning several Nissans..

I think I will never own a Nissan again.

They are reliable, but the interior quality is just crap compared to everything else.

Here is a summary of the people in a typical ATOT car thread:

1. Debate on which non-performance vehicle is less slow
2. Believe that performance corresponds to the exterior look of the car
3. Don't know a piston from a camshaft and still think they know everything
4. Couldn't change their own oil to save their life
5. Brand loyalty negates a meaninful reply
6. Opinion on a car is based on a single specific experience with the brand
7. Read many opinionated magazine reviews as fact
8. Believe that what they want from a vehicle applies to everyone else here
9. Worship Jeremy Clarkson

I'm sure there are many more.

Do you take every cars apart and examine their individuals parts and measure every little things to come up with an objective valuation if the car is worth the money or better than other cars being discussed?

What is consider a good car to you and what do you drive?

but the corolla and civic gets excellent milage as well. and still with all the marketing mumbo jumbo such as "DOHC" and "high-output", no official specs on this engine. i doubt it'll remotely dent the sales of civic and corolla unless it sells for a couple thousand below those 2.

It offers some features that aren't available in any of the competitors, such as intelligent key and bluetooth.
The Versa as well.
