How the hell do you not notice you're in reverse and just, oh, I don't know, use the brakes?

In the 2nd picture it looks like there is a winch line attached to the front or is that just an optical delusion?

Looks like they took the pics as they were pulling it out.

But yeah, if the story is true, I don't know how this could have happened. My guess is that a guy bought the hummer and failed to put it in park when he got out to launch the boat. Then he needed an excuse to why his hummer was under water, so he made up the story of the teenage daughter.

Unfortunately, I've seen a few H2's at the boat ramp, and they are usually accompanied by a guy who puffs his chest out, stands about 5'4", and can't back up an empty trailer worth a damn.

I believe the story.

A few years ago, I was at a buddy's house. His family has three cars and their driveway only has space for two. There is no on-street parking, so they pull the third car across the mouth of the driveway.

His younger sister had just got her license and her dad told her to go out and park the last car across the driveway. She goes out and, a few minutes later, we hear a horrible crashing sound. We run out and she has driven the car (1992 buick continental) into the retaining wall. The wall is badly damaged, the car is okay.

When asked about what she was thinking her answer was, "I got the pedals confused." It's been five years and she still hasn't lived that down.

So, the OP's story is 100% believable IMO.
