I was running some errands for my mom this afternoon, when all of sudden, my stomach started to rumble a little. In a desperate attempt to fufill myself I starting scanning the road to see what were my options.
Red Lobster - nope, not in the mood. Too expensive too
Pizza Hut - Takes to long
Burger King - Nah. I should think outside the bun.
Taco Bell - BINGO!
I pull up through the drive thru, and search the billboard for something new, and to my surprise, I saw the CHICKEN CLUB CHALUPA.
I ordered 2 @ $2.00 each, and a bean burrito along with a small drink.
I went home, opened the Chalupa up, and noticed its beautiful build. It was amazing how the ingredients were layered. Truly breathtaking. I held it carefully to my mouth, closed my eyes, and took a healthy bite. My mouth was happy, and my stomach would be too soon. The crispy, chewy shell of the Chalupa accented the bacon/chicken mix well. Let's not forget the cheese, tomatoes, and the "sauce." The sauce leads to one of the bad things about it. It was good, but I felt it needed more sauce. I compensated with 2 hot sauces packets - which also added a nice kick.
Overall, I give this item 3.5/5 stars. My favorite Chalupa is still the Baja though.
PROs
-Crispy/chewy shell
-Presentation
-Chicken/bacon meat combo
CONs
-Price Point (At $2 dollars a pop, it's quite expensive)
-Not enough sauce (YMMV)
