So here I am, just casually browsing through a thread, and this monstrosity known as the new Anandtech Forums clown avatar is somewhere in the thread.. ACK! (out of the corner of my eye)

The first of the 17 new avatars that I stumbled across was the Clown. Honestly, one of my first thoughts was Doh! The Forum servers have been hacked! :Q Sorry to say it seems rather out-of-place amongst the others. I was thinking about a Joker avatar (generic, not Batman-style Joker)... that would be kinda cool.

I agree, we should start a petition to REMOVE the clown avatar permanently from the forums :disgust:

Coulrophobia is a serious issue and shouldn't be taken lightly. Some of my favorite forum-goers have adopted this hideous avatar and it means I can't read their threads

Please help me and others with my condition and petition Zuni to REMOVE the clown avatar or at least replace it with something less offensive and equally festive.

Nopers, I think maybe they are one of the release features for FuseTalk 4 (just a speculation). eZone Media probably wants some "normal"-looking avatars to appeal to business customers who need an internal Forum. I wish we had a ColdFusion database server where I work... I'd try to hit Zuni up for a complimentary single-forum edition of FuseTalk but it will never happen (the ColdFusion server, I mean).

Of course, FT has custom avatars as an option, so business users could use actual pictures of themselves if the feature were enabled by their administrator.
