It's certainly no bland underpowered Volvo S40. Do you have the fast 168hp model or the mind blowingly fast 218hp model? lol

?? you know that i have a volvo s40, so that means that you pay attention enough to things i've said in the past. that being the case, you should also know that i don't care about cars or how fast cars are or whatever... i only care if it's safe, fuel efficient, looks nice, and has enough horsepower for me to get into and out of traffic safely.

Then why does your opinion on the new Camaro count if your tastes in cars is the complete opposite?

because i know what's aesthetically pleasing.

I have seen quite a few engines come into the shop way past the normal 5 year 60K powertrain warranty period and Lexus (Toyota) has honored all owners with free engine work to fix the problem. Its a 14 hour job that consists of replacing the valve stem seals, and the valve covers to allow better breath ability. Even if the car is at 120k miles, they will take care of the customer. Is there any other company that will do that so willingly?

The fact that Lexus (Toyota) would go that far to keep their customers happy is amazing! Hell, the new ES 350s are having trans problems! And what happens? A few pressure tests and speed tests are done and the customer gets a new transmission free of charge! Not rebuilt or remanufactured but NEW.

Look, I hope to hell that the new Camaro is a true hit and an instant classic for GM. I really do! There's nothing that I would love more than to see GM come back into the great tradition that they had up until the 60's! At heart I am a Chevrolet fan, but HONESTLY, what have they come out with that makes me just want to say "damn, I need to have that car!" Sure the new Camaro may just be it, and I sincerely hope that you can get your hands on an SS version of it! But please be prepared to have problems.

I guess thats the gist of my post. No so much about a specific car, but an entire company's thesis about producing cars. So far, the Big three have been dropping the ball. Maybe they will recover, but its going to take some serious rethinking on their top brass' part to figure out how to make a great quality car regardless of the car's class.

As for now, I got a 1977 Celica GT hatchback thats got my name written on it. as soon as I get her back to my place, Ill post some pics!
