?? you know that i have a volvo s40, so that means that you pay attention enough to things i've said in the past. that being the case, you should also know that i don't care about cars or how fast cars are or whatever... i only care if it's safe, fuel efficient, looks nice, and has enough horsepower for me to get into and out of traffic safely.

I think hot wheels could build a better real car than these idiots over in Detroit!

Which is why I dont get why some of my fellow Americans get their diapers in a bunch when people talk about Toyota! Most of their cars, SUVs and all the trucks are built here in the UNITED STATES using the very same infrastructure that the Big 3 have deemed to expensive to operate with!

BTW, I cant WAIT until the Lexus ISF hits the streets and walks all over those annoying Camaros and Mustangs! (BMW M3...we're coming for you to pal!) And uh...Ford..yeah...glad to see your leaving cause the new Tundra? Yeah, its about to pwn the f'n CRAP outta you. If you thought that was rough, wait till the Tundra gets their Diesel!

I'm sorry, but the Camaro has more personality in it's taillights than the entire current and upcoming Toyota lineup, combined.

While I agree with you to a certain extent, Ill take reliability and build quality over looks any day of the year! Also, while brute power and styling on certain models may be the Big 3's niche, it not worth anything if the REST of the car is a total pile of crap!

Hey, if you want to let your stereotypes stop you from driving a gorgeous great car, that is your problem. I am waiting impatiently for this car.

It isnt a stereotype dude, its a fact. One of the few bright spots that GM has is their LS series engines. Ecotech isnt bad, but have you actually had a GM or Ford or Chrysler product apart?

I am a Lexus Technician and I have worked on my fair share of GM, Ford and Chrylser vehicles. Exp:GM is still using STAMPED control arms......thats like 50's technology dude. They are so worried about production costs, they cant see past the fact that Toyota/Honda/Nissan have engineered the Big 3 to the point of bankruptcy. They gave away the car market to the imports and Japanese ran away with! They allowed their "base" of American manpower to go to paying jobs at the "import" manufacturer's American plants, and to top it off the Japanese makers are about ready to take over the American truck market.

I do think the new Camaro looks great, but unless its in the same class of coupe as the Corvette in that it is a niche market car and is assembled with same care, then you will see a slew of problems with the base models. Fact is is that the most production volume of Domestic coupes like Mustang and Camaro are base model V6 cars! As time goes on, the cars will start getting produced at a far cheaper quality build in the effort to produce a bigger profit margin.

That is simply the way that American automakers view the problem of mass production these days.

By the time it hits the street, It's going to look like the current impala with a camaro badge on it.

Not that a rwd impala is a bad thing. It's a good thing. But it's not a camaro.

It's your loss if you can't see the forrest for the trees. Whatever issues you perceive with the big 3, I am going to take this car on its merits alone, and until you show me a Japanese cars that looks remotely like this, has remotely similar power and features for a remotely similar price, I really don't care how they make their control arms. As far as I know, this is an American classic built on a $1Billion Holden platform from Australia, with a big American V8 under the hood. It's the best of all worlds. The complete package. It is the pinnacle of current car design. I need to own it. This car can't come out fast enough for me.

You're right dude, over a three year period you'll likely have one half more problem with a GM product than a Toyota or Honda. GM is on par with Nissan. That certainly is night and day.

I'm glad Toyota never thought of profit when they had their sludging engine problem.

Are you trying to tell me that Toyota doesn't try to cut costs? The new Tundra I poked around in at the NAIAS had a plastic radiator tank. The expansion tank has a smaller hose leading to it than my Miata, as a matter of fact.

I guess Im the only one so far that finds the engine compartment to be kick ass with how clean and un-cluttered it is. I love that look in teh cars now a days myself without wires, tubes, and other crap all over.

OH and the car looks kick ass as well.

As I recall, the Camaro usually outsold the Firebird by a rather wide margin so it makes sense to only bring it back at this point.

would it really, butthole? would the correct spelling of the car's name in the title of an atot thread REALLY make it not look as ugly?

No, It doesn't change what it looks like. But it makes you look like less of a moron.
On second thought I shouldn't of said anything and let you continue to look like a moron.

You're talking in terms of sales right?

isn't that the only thing that matters to a corporation?

To a corporation maybe, to the people of course not. I don't worry about how many other people have bought the same car I'm looking at. I'd want to know if it is better than the competition.

for some reason, the vast majority of people have decided that the mustang is a better competitor than the camaro. which is why ford has yet another hit mustang on its hands and gm is left playing catch up.

Maybe because women love Mustangs? Seriously, I think I see more women Mustang drivers than men. Ford does much better advertisement also.
