they don't sound bad but they don't fit in my ears with such a retarded design. The are loose and keep falling out.

All earbuds are loose and fall out. The only ones that are decent are the in-ear ones that came with my phone, and only with the smallest pads on them.

You expect a piece of plastic to magically stay in your ear? There's a reason why a decent pair of earphones come with a rubber tip.

They stay in slightly better than the ones they replaced. That's not saying much.

Believe it or not, if I need a mic, I use the ones that came with my work Blackberry, with the nice rubber tips. Horrible, horrible phone -- but a great headset!

Otherwise I use the ones I got from Monoprice, which routes the cords over the ears. Terrific headphones at a great price.

I find that they sound better and fit my ear slightly better, but slightly is a small improvement over almost not fitting at all.

I think they're significantly better than the old ones they replaced.

That isn't saying too much though. The first thing I do when I get a new Apple product is throw the crappy earbuds away and plug in something decent.

Had the same problem with all earbuds, including the old ones. My ears are simply not compatible with earbuds (except, maybe the in-ear ones). I tried the new EarPods for 3 minutes. I am incompatible with them. The new EarPods are not any worse...they just don't work on me.

They stay in perfectly in my ear. So comfy and sound good enough that I replaced my $80 earbuds with them.

My ears must be too large cuz they keep falling out of my ears, good thing I can return them to radio shack. What a disappointment

FYI: while at the gym I cleaned my ear with a hand sanitizer and a paper towel and the new ear buds stayed in much much better

It's funny cause they have commercials that promote how they were smart about designing a new ear bud that was made perfect for the human ear. But everyone I talk to doesn't like them. lol

As someone else mentioned, you need rubber because it can conform to your ear easily and it's not hard like a lot of ear buds. I have some high quality Sennheiser ear buds that are amazing. If you care about audio and comfort, do yourself a favor and buy a good pair of earbuds. Don't live with the junk they include with your device. They cut cost as much as possible and the earbuds are generally crap.

Funny, I actually like these headphones. The previous model KILLED my ears after about 5 minutes. These are actually comfortable.

Why can't they be decent enough to announce 3rd party support for this W1 chip so other makers can make wireless headphones for it? Or why not just allow Apt X? The BT on the phone is gimped so they can introduce their proprietary headphones along with Beats - the new Bose. This is 2000s Sony level pettiness.

They did list some third party non-Bests wireless headphones that use it.

I guess that's not too bad then. I'll look up which ones. The only reason I haven't looked at wireless with iPhones is that it doesn't support apt X. But I guess this fixes that problem

I've been looking but I can't find any 3rd party headphones supporting this chip. Also why can they release specs? No bitrate. No details on which compression standard is used or whether it skips recompression. Just nothing but a picture and hype. Oh we designed it. Who cares? I want specs not a song and dance.
