was looking at some hotrod rag where Ford engineers contracted some speciality hotrod builder to create a"bolt-up" ZX3 with a 302 GT40 engine and a 8.8 rearend doing mid to low 13's.the custom builder was able to accomplish the feat, everything was "bolt-in" 🙂 and unlike its predecessors (V-8 pinto/vega) they claim the ride was "tight" no body flexing or poor weight dist.

Forget that thing. There was an autocross event that I competed in where there was a Focus with a 2003 Cobra motor in it. Watching the rear wheels smoke in reverse was priceless.

maybe so but there's no way you could call that "bolt-in" wonder what they had to modify in the engine bay.the ZX3's 302 fit very nicely(like it belonged there) and was bolted up to the original engine bay "hard points"

The guy that built the Chevy 350 currently in my Dad's PU.. was going to put it into one of those small Toyota PUs, before he sold it. :Q

That'd be fun. 😉
