The Trump backers will never reason as to why they feel connected with the Republican party and why they feel the Democrat party is filled with evil and devils. Many in the party think that racist ideology is a form of free speech, that the Democrats are trying to attack. I do not know where they came up with the idea that the Democrat party is trying to destroy God and remove the word God from the Pledge of Allegiance. You try to ask hem to explain their reasoning, they will either call you slow or tell you they do not have time to explain to some stranger. There are some of them that seem to believe that the US was based of the ideology of Christianity, and other religions are a threat to the nation. Then there are those that feel the Democrats are trying to start a coupe and a socialist republic, by first taking away our weapons. What nonsense. Then finally there are those in the Republican party that feel the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is violation of State Rights. All thanks to Nixon and Trump, the Republican party went from the party of Lincoln to this.

Then there is the conspiracy groups that are adding oil to this fire, with claims like Pizzagate or Biden and other Democrts being pesos. If that is not enough, the Republican party has news channels that support their views, even if the statements being made on those channels are false or misleading. When such news outlets are put under litigation for their statements, their simple reply is First Amendment.

As I've said before, to begin with, the Repub's platform is that they have no platform to launch their political campaigns with. Zero, nada, nicht. What they do have in infinite abundance are lies, more lies and more lies stacked on a mountain range of bullshit, all being sung to them from every news media they control, from their religious leader's pulpits, from every social media outlet they exploit and from every corrupted politician and judge's mouths they could place in the gov't.

When they elected Trump based on the spectacularly brazen lies, untruths, conspiracy hoaxes, racist innuendo and catchy insults he fed them every time he opened his yapper it was the theme, the precedent he set that led their party down the road to fascism. I can't say it was their intention from the day he got elected, but it sure is now. The takeover is in progress and they're not being discrete about it at all.

All Hail Trump! Uber Amerikanski Fascists!

I think you are in the wrong forum. You should be telling this on a right wing forum. They are the ones that don't know this. On this forum you need to be telling the left that their rage at all the obviousness of which you spoke is counterproductive, that we create what we fear and that we need to calm down and speak truth to lies, that we need to warn both the right and the left about the danger of divisive rage. We are all in this together, that things are looking pretty bad in the world and we could use each other's help. Sure sure, some, even a lot of us may already too far gone to help, but we don't need to push them further over the edge, do we?

Ah. but sure we do because we are too psychologically immature to handle our own rage, to see it for what it is, a projection created by our own self hate. Next time work that self hate part in somewhere.

And don't forget, what is obvious to you may not be so obvious to the folk you describe any more than what is obvious to me is obvious to you. Help yourself turning that around. What is obvious to you may not be obvious to me, right?

You will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. But you can know that best if you taste some of both, Mr. Chinnuts.

This seems to be the best grammatically and worded post from Moonie, that I feel ashamed of what I posted about Moonbeam. Moonbeam, will can you please accept my apologies?

What gets me is the lie, the bigger than big lie known as the huge lie.
That huge lie, claiming Donald Trump saved the economy by creating his own great economy. Not true. No, Trump did not do THAT. What Donald Trump did was take credit for the great economy brought about by president Obama. Trump's economy WAS IN FACT Barack Obama's economy. And it is a miracle Obama's economy lasted as long as it did under the Trump administration. Covid really didn't matter, Trump would have destroyed Obama's economy eventually. Covid didn't matter....

So over the weekend someone on Fox News was again giving Trump credit for Obama's robust economy. Some guy on Fox was claiming that "DONALD TRUMP WOULD NEVER TAKE CLASSIFIED GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS, DONALD TRUMP WAS ONLY INTERESTED IN SAVING AMERICA. DONALD TRUMP CREATED THE GREAT ECONOMY, SO WHY WOULD TRUMP HARM AMERICA?

A nice BS line, but doesn't make it true. Take away the delusion of Trump's "great economy", and you are left with a crook. A crook who steals classified government documents.

And.... WE ALL KNOW what Donald Trump intended to do with those stolen classified government documents, SELL THEM.
Absolutely true!!!
Donald Trump would have sold those classified nuclear documents to Putin and Russia and probably to North Korea as well. And sold those documents for A LOT OF MONEY $$$$$$. To any dictatorship willing to pony up the loot.
Think about it.... Now THAT is the real true Donald Trump we all know.

Critics of the Democratic Party implicitly admire the Republican Party for its devious tactics, its ready acceptance for toxic lies, greed, and discrimination against others.

Democrats try to play by the rules, adhere to principles of equality and support inclusion for all. Unlike many on the Right, Democrats support improved health care, veterans benefits and want action taken against Global Warming.

However, the enemies of free and fair elections continue with their demonization of those they hate and never suggest any workable alternatives. Because they aren't any.

Democrats aren't perfect. But I could never see myself goose-stepping for Trump or DeSantis.

So true and they would be more perfect still, in my opinion, if they skillfully tailored whatever dumbed-down message would prove successful against Republican rhetoric so long as didn't include have juvenile tantrums over what victims they are forced to share a world with all those mean old conservatives. Get therapy if you want to complain about your big sore toe you placed in the middle of the aisle hoping someone would happen by and step on it. In politics nobody wants to hear about it. People are looking for answers to their misery not to hear about yours.

Gladly but you will have to take a mixed bag. I know you intended to offend and I am aware of the place within me where the insult was intended to land but I long ago realized that when you show people the negative things you have managed to see within yourself that they wish not to, they will hate who is holding the mirror just as I did and can do. I am sorry that humans live in fear of the truth and that we are human. I have heard even that the fully enlightened aren't really anything like us at all, no longer of this world.

So do not worry, to whatever degree I have freed myself of my own inner self loathing, I will not be offended, and to whatever degree I am offended it is due to my own blindness.

Damn, you don't even have to say his name three times and he appears!
I just thank my lucky stars I got here in time to tell you that it is just your miserable self loathing just deserts and fated bad luck that gives you the impression I so quickly managed to be able to to blight your otherwise normally miserable bad day.

@iRONic Perhaps you can offer a better explanation as to why a normally rational person like @Amused could express disparaging incredulity at the fact that I posted 6th in a thread and was reading that thread even before Post #5 appeared for any other reason than I happened to be on at the right time to do so.

I'm perfectly happy to be whatever annoyance he wishes to conjure, Gadfly would be quite flattering, but if people wish to do so then I should be able to offer my insights as to why they are really bothered. You never know when listening to one's better nature could come in handy.

This story has always fascinated me.

Mulla Nasrudin stepped out on a platform at a train station and took a seat waiting for the train. A boy ran up and knocked off his hat, something he had done to several others waiting for the train. Someone said to him, you should teach that boy a lesson. The Mulla replied something like things weren't working out that way. Soon a soldier sat down near by also to catch the train and the boy knocked off his hat too. The soldier jumped up and shot him.

It is easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled - Mark Twain

About sums it up for the current GOP and their followers. Never thought the day would come when a dolt like Trump could inflict so much damage to his party and country. The deplorables have acquired a powerful new weapon in their arsenal to quickly shut down any argument or attempt at reason: denial in the form of 2 simple words: Fake News. Its simple, because they dont have enough brain cells to put together any effective counter-argument to make proper points of any kind. Just those 2 words is the entirety of their argument.
