The network path was not found

I'm haveing some trouble networking on my computer. I'm on a network in the fraternity house that I live in and there are no restrictions, but whenever I try to access the network, it always tells me the Network path was not found and to contact my administrator. He can't figure out the problem as all the settings are correct. I had this same problem at home when networking using a hub. NetBUEI won't work(it used to), and TCP/IP won't work either(it worked for a day). It seems the problems started when I installed SP2. I am not using the firewall. Does anybody have any ideas?
