"There didn't seem to be any difference in the spec for the LCD20WGX2 Pro". After checking with NEC product line they confirmed there is no change to the panel used or to the specs.

So they mean from the 20WMGX2 specs about the same?

"TN Film based 90GX2 and 70GX2 Pro models".

Forget those TN :(

They are the best TN's out. If I were looking for a cheaper game monitor 90GX²Pro would be it.

yup i had a 1770gx (first gen 70gx2) and it was a pretty good panel. the color was really good for a TN same with the uniformity.

gave it to my cousin (free upgrade form his dell e173fp piece of crap) and he was like,... wow this is night and day.

so yes, i get a new monitor, my 14 year old cousin gets an upgrade and i have an e173fp sitting in a box. everyone wins.

Hello all,

I picked one up from Page Computer right after Christmas.

I have one dead pixel, but it is sitting in the windows task bar and is always buried by icons, so I haven't even tried to fix it yet.

I am really pleased with it so far, but I know I still need to get it set up correctly.

Have two questions on that, one, is picking up the Eye-One a worthwhile investment if I'm only going to use it once or twice to get first setup? I'm not a photo pro or anything, just pure gamer.

Two, I am running native 1680x1050 full time on a X1900XT. When I want to compare my rig to system/gaming reviews, which graph do I compare to?, 1600x1200, or do I need to actually change my resolution to 1600x1200 and run the same benchmarks?

Thanks

1600x1200 will not run on this monitor. That said, 1600x1200 involves more pixels so theoretically you should have comparable or slightly better performance.
