** Please do not post off topic, if you have something unrelated to say open a new topic. Thanks **

I just installed 32-bit Windows Vista on an Athlon 64 Build (Didnt want to download 2 ISOs for 2 PCs, one 32 bit and one 64 bit.

I play StepMania to practice my DDR accuracy and the performace was terrible. I'm running the nforce RAID drivers for Beta2. Below is a system specification.

Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0GHz)
1GB PC3200 DDR
ATI X850XT PE
Audigy 2

Now, I"m using all the drivers from the manu, latest version. Anyone else have a similar setup trying playing any games on it. I also played CS:Source and went from 60 to 20 fps even after turning everything all the way down!

Any advice, comments or suggestions?

Not to be a hardass, but there are a couple of active Vista threads in this forum that you could have posted in. :)

Either use an existing thread, or give yours a useful and specific title so people don't waste time coming in here when you then proceed to tell them to PO if they aren't going to discuss your very specific topic. Also, Microsoft has a convenient Feedback link and a Beta Client (available through the Getting Started info) for more specific issues; using those early and often is the best way to help things out, IMHO. :)

If you don't want people to 'post offtopic', then have a more specific thread title.

Yea, an update. I disabled all visual themes and sidebar and no performace increase. OpenGL and D3D across the board. I'm glad I didnt wipe my other HD ;) Dual-Boot FTW.

I knew about the Creative/Vista problems so right now I'm using the sound on my A8N-E. Using DVD drive for running.

You think the Audigy is causing the problems? Hmm..

I'll have to try that when I reboot back into Vista.

Thanks! :)

EDIT: I removed my Audigy2 to attempt to check to see if it was causing the problem. Steam ran great without soundcard. Installed my O/B only to remember it's a Sound Blaster 7.1 (Live-Based) onboard audio :/ Same problems with onboard.

Anyone get CS or any HL engine games working? Mine gives me a display error and only wants to run in software mode.
