What significant album marked that crucial year in your teenager life?

For me, it was this one, released 18 days after my 16th birthday. O how many nights since then I have spent listening to its haunting call. :)

Us And Them (Pink Floyd)

Metallica's Master of Puppets. That album could effectively be called the soundtrack of my youth.

well seeing as how my 16th birthday is in a few weeks(March 10) i'd have to say, at the moment, Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile or Metallica's black album :)

Well, Yes finally came out with 90125 a few months before my 16th birthday (it came out in late '83 I believe, and I turned 16 in March of '84.)That was the year I was turned on to the good stuff. :D I really 'discovered' Yes as a band then. What a revelation!

Rage Against The Machine - Evil Empire

Came out about a month before my sixteenth, it was all I listened to for a month.

Considering that 90% of my music collection predates my birth and 99.9% predates my 10th birthday I really don't have an album that marks my 16th year. The absolute closest I could come would be RUSH's 'Test For Echo' album, though it predates my 16th by 2 years. Still waiting for decent new music.

Elvis' hits - Didnt like him much myself.

Screamin' J. Hawkins - You put a spell on me

Last summer...best song at the time had to be either NSync - It's Gonna Be Me or Dr Dre - Forgot About Dre.

It was a few months after my 16th birthday, but Nirvana - Nevermind was a pretty huge hit.

Music these days blows, so the closest would be Chemical Brothers - Dig Your Own Hole.
