When I first read about it & saw the teaser images, I thought it was going to be really dumb, but it actually looks pretty fun. Tom Cruise makes good movies.

The music doesn't really seem to fit in with the theme all that much tho, kinda seems like they're taking a line from GoTG.

Also, I miss Brenden Frasier.

I actually thought the '99 one with Brendan Fraser was pretty good for what it was. It didn't take itself too seriously and struck a nice balance between camp and seriousness.

You know, I kind of prefer an all-or-nothing approach. I think one of the reasons the original Mummy worked with Frasier was that they kept the CGI up throughout the movie, so it wasn't cheesy when they just threw in a CGI monster at the end because crazy CGI was a part of the whole movie, and it worked because it was fun...sandstorms, bugs, etc.

Just saw Tom Cruise in Oblivion and Edge of Tomorrow recently, really can't go wrong with him.

I think Universal is making their own universe of the classic monsters in early films. Out of all the cheesy reboots of recent reboots, this actually could be fun for nostalgia's sake.

How many motorcycles does it have? Seriously, I enjoyed the Brendan Frasier one. Why remake it? And for the level of CGI ... I do not think many movies these days are CGI-less. And those that use them use CGI in large volumes even for things that seem retarded. I'm guessing it is easier to CGI from an economics standpoint than to use location, scenes and optical solutions.

I liked the 90's Mummy, this one looks really bad to me. But, I do like Tom Cruise so I will probably see it anyway.

I actually really like the setup they have at Universal Studios too. I hope they don't ruin it!

Sad how many people say "the originals" and are talking about the Brendan Frasier ones. I don't even hate those, but the real original Mummy movies are great old school slow burn horror movies.

Ugh, this looks like just a typical modern CGI disaster porn. I'm sure it'll be marginally better because Cruise has a way of actually making an action scene carry some weight, but I could not give a shit less as the characters will be throwaway caricatures that you don't actually care about. These CGI schlockfests somehow manage to actually carry less emotional weight than full on cartoons, which completely nullifies all the destruction.

Honestly at this point, I think Tom Cruise should just make full length movie cuts of him doing crazy stunts and shit. That would be far more entertaining and would cut out all the stupid shit that just detracts from the badass stuff that he does.

The only thing good about The Edge of Tomorrow was seeing Tom Cruise die over and over again. The end sucked as he would stop dying. I'd not pay to see any of his movies. Ever. He's much too full of himself and that shows in almost all his scenes in all his movies. A bit like an older version of Ashton Kutcher

Rachel looked better and was better in the first. I think she was relatively unknown in the first, then she got a lot more "posh" in the second. Character went from goofy to too serious.

Why do they constantly feel the need to redo, redo and redo again movies? If they're going to redo a Universal Monsters flick why not the classic Frankenstein? Wouldn't that be epic?

Did you know the idea of Frankenstein came about due to primary two factors: the coldest decade and the fact science was experimenting with cadavers and apply electrical charges to limbs. They actually thought they could bring back the dead and in some cases while performing these experiments woman fainted at the site of a dead man's arms rising. Flash forward to the 20th century and we have the defibrillator. Go figure.

Meh, while I'd rather they stop rehashing the movies of my youth I have a hard time thinking of a Tom Cruise movie I didn't like. Also for some reason this trailer reminded me of the trailer for X-Men Apocalypse.
