how did I miss this movie?

It's so money. Especially if you have been in the same situation or going through something now.

The expression "it's so money" is so, what, 2008?

More like so late 90's. That movie was big back in my college days in the late 90's. I must have watched it 30 times back then. One of my friends got so frigging infatuated with that movie that he moved to LA to try to live that lifestyle. He did end up becoming a radio DJ for awhile while he lived there, but now has a normal job.

Shouldn't he have tried to be a comedian?

He was really more interested in hanging out at the bars they went to (he went to The Dresden A LOT), and the lifestyle from the movie than the show business side of it. He just ended up in radio.

The phone call at the end was the best part. And Heather Graham. And when they injured Wayne Gretzky in NHL 96 or whatever it was.

I need to say something here:
The slang you children are using these days?
IS FUCKING STUPID!

Get better slang kiddies, or boost yourselves up a level and use proper fucking english. But bad slang is not fucking acceptable from this point forward.
