The movie Hero.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Reasons: Ungodly amount of twist
Fight scences were lame (especially water one)
Subtitles
No boobs
Strung out

I give it a 3 out of 10 if only for the action sequences. I was bored to tears. CTHD is vastly superior.

Maybe if you viewed it as a ballet, you would have thought, "Wow, this is better than the Nutcracker!"
Perspective is almost everything in Aesthetics.

Yeah I felt Quentin Tarantino was a jerk for "presenting" this movie to the states. It suckered in those of us whoe enjoy the violence and depravity of his movies. They didn't even show people get cut, it was beautiful, but not exciting.

I'm really mad at him. I'd swear to never watch any of his movies again, but they are just too good.

I thought all the wire fighting was a bit silly and outrageous. I still thought the movie was very good overall though. Highly recommended.

I didn't like it. the biggest thing was the ending. Yeah the fight scenes were kinda lame for me. But the ending was terrible IMO.
SPOILER ALERT

He shoulda just killed the emperor. If the emperor turned out to be a super-fighter and killed him that woulda been better. But to go all the way there and not do it? What a waste and what a waste of my time.

I liked it, mostly because it was different, the scenery and symbolism were wonderfully achieved, I guess I just watch way too many movies (mostly a different movie every night, my collection is just under a thousand now) that this one was something different.

😕 Were you paying attention to the rest of the movie? Personally, I really enjoyed seeing a film that isn't the usual Hollywood trash. Ok, the wire-fu was a bit over the top, but overall it was good.

My dad didn't like it. I'm undecided.

The movie was based off of an idea rather than a plot.

I loved the idea/plot of the movie. History remembers the first emperor of china to be a cruel tyrant, which he probably was, but the fact that he unified language and the warring states into one country is a remarkable accomplishment, which, as the movie suggests, might've been better for the country as a whole.

yeah, I was paying attention. He learned the wrong lesson. Why even go there if you're not going to kill him? Just to go there and deliver the story about why he changed his mind? Whats the point?

I'm glad to see other people despised it just as much as we did. I mean everyone is talking about how wonderful this piece of crap was. Now if you are a god fearing man, please don't read what I'am going to say next. I'd rather watch the village twice rather than watch this movie again.

I thought it was ok. I found the wire stuff to be really hard to get past. It just made me roll my eyes and laugh. I know it's not supposed to be realistic. But some of it just went too far. I can see having them be nearly superhuman in their skills, but if they can fly, what is the point of fighting their way through all the guards? Why not just fly over the walls and over the guards and land right in the Emperor's palace?

Did anyone think about Taiwan while watching this movie?

I didn't like it.
The twists weren't even good twists. It was like the writers decided, "Ok. But then it REALLY happens like this..." except they did it 20 times.
The fight scenes were pretty lame and a little too over the top. In one scene, Jet Li is in the background struggling against the water on his own.

I don't really understand your complaint about subtitles though. Not everyone can understand Mandarin.
