That is one ugly color combination in the OP. My Moto X was black with a walnut back, which looks a lot better. It's nice to see front facing speakers, though I do feel like the side bezels could be a little bit thinner, but the white front makes it look worse.

I won't be getting the X1 (X+1 is a really dumb name), but I enjoyed the Moto X when I had it. The active display was really cool and useful, really brought down the number of times I needed to turn the screen on which improved the already stellar battery life. And the ability to wake the phone even while locked meant it was one of the few truly hands free phones (great for driving). It really felt like one of the "smartest" smartphones. My only problem with the X was that it was too small, I prefer larger screens.

Phones probably committed suicide after dealing with your grammar for a year.

I just want a phone that is about the same size as my galaxy s3, will get a couple of updates, and isn't a POS gimped "mini" version of whatever the flagship is.

You mean what the original moto x was :p

Yeah some people said it was not an enough improvement over the s3, but in every metric that I can recall the moto x was superior to the at&t s3 that anandtech tested with. Battery life is up, screen is brighter, roughly same weight but the moto x is lighter, half a centimeter less wide, half a centimeter less tall, and a curved depth which most people said made it easier to hold. The moto x has a much faster gpu being double the speed in most tests. In the cpu tests the moto x was anywhere from 30% faster to 120% faster even though they were both dual cores made by qualcomm. The moto x and qualcomm were able this due to a newer version of the krait cores that dramatically improved some tests, a higher ghz speed on the cpu, ?and better thermals?

Whatever some say moto x was not enough of an improvement over the s3, and was not good enough compared to the htc one and the s4. Saying this as an s4 user I personally think in many areas the moto x is a better phone and often was priced cheaper than the s4. Now I got my s4 months before the moto x came out so I have no regrets.

Personally I think Motorola completely screwed up making and selling the moto x. They had practically a perfect phone but they just released it months too late and at an initial price that was way too high. Eventually they corrected the price, but they lost millions of sales due to it being 3 months after the s4 and htc one which looked better on paper, and at a price that was the same as those phones when it had a deficit in specs.

If it came out the same time as the galaxy at a price point that was a $100 dollars cheaper it would have easily done more sales, and gotten far more positive reviews from reviewers.
