My new sweetheart

These are all the rage these days, which makes me really anxious to try one. What's it like compared to the 9?

You really should give them a try. Out of all the motorcycles I've ever ridden and owned, this one by far is the most fun.
Obviously it doesn't accelerate with the ferocity of a liter bike, but I can still beat my friends' 600s pretty handily up to 80mph or so. The thing will outhandle any sportbike with ease, although its pretty easy throwing around a 300lb dirt bike with fat tires and more torque than a 600.
I scared myself too many times on sportbikes, their speed is a little unnecessary at this point in my life. It's the perfect commuter bike, not so great for 500 mile days on open roads though. This thing is the most fun you'll have at legal speeds, ever. :D
A cheaper way to go is to just get a four stroke dirt bike and convert it to supermoto. Cheaper, and you don't feel so bad throwing a Honda CRF down the road as you would this. I've already done it, but its fixed now. :(

I really like your bike too, a guy I ride with has a YZF, hella comfortable compared to the hardcore stuff.

It's not that I'm getting tired of my bike, it's just that there are so many cool bikes out there that I want to try. Plus if my bike had a hard bag option, I would like it alot more. Soft saddlebags suck.

I'd rather have yours than any of the big four's 04/05/06 ss bikes. You're not missing much, if those are the kinds you want to try still.
Just use yours for weekend touring, throw on a tank bag or something small. Just add an older dedicated touring bike to your garage for long distance stuff, like an FJ or ST.
Once we get our house expenses out of the way, I'd like to get another bike. And another. Just not all new. It'd be nice having choice depending on what you need to do, that's for sure.
Hook up with a group to ride with, its nice trading bikes for a few miles with someone sometimes. Some days you can go through a half dozen "test rides" if you find a good bunch of guys. :)

I've got some great people that I frequently ride with from sport-touring.net. The YZF would be almost equal to the popular bikes over there (Sprint ST, VFR800, etc) if it just had some hard bags. I've ridden 400 miles in a day on it and it's bearable. I just want to branch out - I've even had my eye on the Vulcan 750. Totally different, but I just love that style of bike.

Took some pictures this weekend finally(too busy riding to remember most of the time), thought I'd whore it up in this thread instead of starting a new one.
Plus I'm trying to learn how to "photograph", instead of "take pictures". :) I'm still bad. lol
