It was average, the ending killed the movie. They also didn't go in-depth about Tom Stall's background, which took away from the movie.

The ending was the best part.

The awkward pause for 10 minutes at the end was kind've weak. I know what they were trying to get at, but I still didn't like it.

The awkwardness added to it. It showed that the potential violence was something they would live with, but that it was scary. I want to see more Cronenberg films, now.

I loved it. It was so well done.. I love how it shows you things out of the ordinary to surprise you. For example, it starts out as a happy ideal family setting, like seventh heaven, and next thing you know, you see mom and dad giving 69.

That was actually part of the ideal family setting.

I watched it and thought it was decent, pretty damn brutal in some of those scenes too.

Not the movie of the year or anything but better than a lot of crap that came out last year.

My main complaint was that there was insufficient tom stall background...why did he go nuts in the first place? why did he decide to change his life? Why was he so good at killing people. I mean...he seemed to be better then your average mobster at that, especially since he was out of practice.

Watched it on DVD this weekend, and I really liked it. Shockingly gruesome but realistic gun violence. Loved the final trip to Philadelphia.

"Jesus, Joey."

"Jesus, Richie."

yea they made a lot of the violence and its consequences being realistic when talking about it on interviews but everything else is unrealistic. apparently all gangster henchmen are like starwars storm troopers. dumb as %#@@.

and i've never seen a kid being picked on turn into woody allen in real life.

Yeah I agree. But I didn't know what the movie was about before I watched it, my bro just told me it was good. So after watching the beginning, and thinking it's like seventh heaven, that came as a total surprise for me.

I agree. I think that's one of the strong points of the movie. It shows you the realities of the violence, rather the wimpy little red hole you usually see.
