The motherboard doesn't recognizes all the installed RAM

I have an AOpen AK33 (KT133, 3DIMMs PC133). As I know, the chipset supports up to 1.5GB, but the manual says that the motherboard supports DIMMs up to 256MB, so I suppose that I can install a maximum of 768MB.

I had one 128MB DIMM (IBM) and one 256MB DIMM (Infineon) installed. I have bought one DIMM more of 256MB (Kingston), but when I boot the computer only 512MB are recognized! (Should be 640MB). (I've done some tests and the new module seems ok)

What can be wrong???
 
#1 are any of them double sided ram modules
#2 are you SURE your motherboard supports double sided ram modules if you have any...
 
From the manual:
"DIMM can be single side or double side; it has 64 bit data and 2 or 4 clock signals. We strongly recommend choosing 4-clock SDRAM for its reliability."
After that there is a tip to identify single-side or double-side DIMMs. In any place the manual says explicitly that the motherboard doesn't supports double-sided modules ...

In Kingston's web I've found the followin info for my mb: "Virtually any configuration up to 1.5GB can be reached using any combination of Kingston's 64, 128, 256, and 512MB modules." So, I shouldn't have any problem ...
 
Try using the new kingston ram by itself. If it is only seen as 128, then you know that one has a problem. Have you tried moving the ram around to different slots? Some boards want certain sizes in certain slots.

They may be talking about high and low density ram. This is normally an intel chipset issue, but anything is possible. If that stick of ram is only seen as half of what it is supposed to be, that would indicate high density problems.
 
I've reordered the DIMMs and know all works. May be it was a bad contact ... who knows 🙂 but now it works
