I cant find a link to this but it was in today columbus dispatch as a story from the san fransisco chronicle.
Apparantly a combat medic from a special forces team was wounded in afghanistan, by getting shot in the jaw. He recieved a purple heart. He had to wear a wire brace on his face, I guess as part of the recovery. He had a pair of nail-type clippers that he kept on him to get the brace off in case of an emergency. So the guy is travelling from his home town through the san fransisco airport, and smartly asked the authorities in his home town whether he was allowed to carry the clipper on board. They said yes and attached a tag to it saying it was OK to carry on board. Yet the screeners in san fransisco told this guy no and confiscated them.
If that isnt ridiculous, I dont know what is. :disgust:
