The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday -- because they’re angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for “professional homeless” people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.

For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.

They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.

To show they mean business, the kitchen staff refused to serve any food for two hours yesterday in order to meet with organizers to air their grievances, sources said.

The Assembly announced the three-day menu crackdown announced earlier in the day -- insisting everybody would be fed something during that period.


Some protesters threatened that the high-end meals could be cut off completely if the vagrants and criminals don’t disperse.
Unhappiness with their unwelcome guests was apparent throughout the day.

“We need to limit the amount of food we’re putting out” to curb the influx of derelicts, said Rafael Moreno, a kitchen volunteer.
A security volunteer added that the cooks felt “overworked and underappreciated.”

How dare they? They're withholding food from homeless, starving beggars. They protest the 1%, while becoming their own 1%. Fucking hilarious.

They feel under appreciated? Who cares? They have the means, others have the need. Why aren't they doing their fair share?

Many of those being fed “are professional homeless people. They know what they’re doing,” said the guard at the food-storage area.
Today, a limited menu of sandwiches, chips and some hot food will be doled out -- so legitimate protesters will have a day to make arrangements for more upscale weekend meals.

"Give the peasants some scraps, we'll go have organic steaks."

Protesters got their first taste of the revolt within the revolt yesterday when the kitchen staff served only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chips after their staff meeting.

Organizers took other steps to police the squatters, who they said were lured in from other parks with the promise of free meals.
A team of 10 security volunteers moved in to the trouble-prone southwest section of Zuccotti Park in a show of force to confront them.
“We’re not going to let some members of this community destroy the whole movement,” a volunteer said.

Why wouldn't they be thrilled to offer these free meals? Would they rather the homeless starve?

Some arguments broke out as the security team searched tents -- but no violence erupted.

Looks like they even got a little police state instituted. Did they have warrants for all those tents?

Overall security at the park had deteriorated to the point where many frightened female protesters had abandoned the increasingly out-of-control occupation, security- team members said.

Rumors swirled that one homeless man had pulled a knife in a dispute the night before -- and that there had been yet another case of groping.
But protesters and a cop on duty told The Post that most of the crime goes unreported, because of a bizarre “stop snitching” rule.
“What’s happening in there is staying in there,” said the cop.

And so we all get a glimpse of this fabulous microcosm of a socialist society, in the heart of the financial capital of the world...

So far as I can see the message of the 99% is that the game is rigged and unfair. Does this mean they understand all unfairness? I don't think so. But knowledge is acquired and isn't cheap. The 99% do not understand self hate. They do not know there is nothing you can do for other people who have this disease. They do not know that you can't give self haters anything they will not destroy or abuse. But they are learning. But you nor I can make them see why this law is true. But it is a fact that I can demonstrate over and over again, that people do not benefit from what they get for free. The disease is self hate and the cure is feeling worth something and that is built in two ways. One can remember what happened in childhood and see one was taught to believe in lies, and one can work for something of value to demonstrate the truth of self worth.

This is why when I say you feel worthless you have to reject what I say. You feel you don't deserve to know what I say. The only exceptions are those who are intensely curious and need to know the truth, or those in such pain that they no longer have any need to defend.

Don't laugh at the cooks on the street. You are no different than they. We are all the same.

The Democrats cater to the needy by offering a free meal, and the Republicans will let them rot in hell. We Real Progressives know to create conditions in which folk help themselves. Teach a man to fish but make sure you've stocked the pond.

The cooks need to charge something for cooking and offer lessons for barter in how to cook.

Actually I do agree with some of what some of them are saying. Trying to find the signal through all the noise is pretty damn hard though. I'd certainly like to see some practical solutions to some of the problems they're throwing against the wall.
