Acquired by the current owner's father in Egypt in the 1920s.
Lot Notes

Several polyhedra in various materials with similar symbols are known from the Roman period. Modern scholarship has not yet established the game for which these dice were used.

All of us that played had a particular 20 sider that we kept for critical rolls. You always had one that seemed to roll better for you than others.

This seems like one of those that you would use for those situations where you are rolling for critical hit drop an enemy or going for a saving throw against being turned to stone or some other "permanent" death.

All you need to do is find a bunch of guys that don't know what each of the symbols means. Then, when you roll something that's low, claim it is a 20 ;)

Does this one roll low. All my 20 siders are cursed and roll high, I can't win an initiative roll to save my life.

That's awesome -- not from a D&D perspective but a historical one. I'd love to have one of those. Unfortunately, if I spent part of the down payment for our house on that, my wife might be a tad upset. ;)
