Okay, it wasn't the most controversial WOF episode ever. Still, pretty weird, right? I'm of the mindset that proper pronunciation isn't a necessity to win a round of Wheel of Fortune - especially when it comes to proper nouns. What's your take?

what the fuck? how can they say they got a word wrong when all the letters are there? who gives a shit how she pronounces her made-up last name?

Well, one guy said "Regis Philburn" and another said "Regis Philman," so I can understand not giving it to them. But vowels in English are pretty lazy, and saying "Ree-pa" instead of "Rip-a" is pretty close.

Still, once one or two people pronounce it wrong you'd think they would have started being extremely careful to enunciate every syllable perfectly. Contestants seem like the kind of guys who would pronounce your name wrong every single time no matter how many times you correct them.

???????? I honestly could not tell if they even mispronounced "Ripa." I can't tell the difference between the first "Ripa" and the final "Ripa."

1st guess, guy says Phil-burn, instead of Phil-bin
2nd guess, guy says Phil-min, instead of Phil-bin
3rd guess, guy says Reap-ah, instead of Rip-ah
4th guess, guy says Phil-min again
All letters are now showing
5th guess, guy says Ripe-ah, instead of Rip-ah
6th guess is finally correct.

All the pronunciations sounded the same to me except the guy who said "Rye-pa". Yet they seemed to randomly give it to the last guy. And of course all the morons clap. I would've beat Sajak's plastic face into his empty skull. Stupidest show ever.
