The most beautiful song sang by different artists...

You know what I've had in my head all morning ? The Michael Jackson "We are the World" song...

:music: There are people dyin'....:music:

The star spangled banner is not even remotely beautiful to me. Some of the lyrics are pretty good, but the melody is terrible. Does the song imagine count, since both john lennon and blues traveler have versions? Also it was performed by scott bakula on quantum leap. Surely that qualifies.

Imagine Covers
I change my vote to that song.

I change my vote to that song.

My second vote was going to be for a Lennon song as well.

"Beware of Darkness"

On second thought, I think it was a George Harrison song. 😱

That's okay, George kicked ass too. John > George > Paul > Ringo 🙂

I think the Irish make some of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard (and I'm a classically trained pianist)

Danny boy always brings a tear to my eye

The Minstrel boy (Heard on an episode of ST:TNG)

But every time I hear amazing grace my eyes tear up. Either that, or "Mansions of the Lord"

I love "Lucy in the Sky" byt the Black Crowes form the "I am Sam.." soundtrack...as a matter of fact, most of the tunes on that album rock...

Perfect Day
Lou Reed did the original, it was then re-done for a charity thing IIRC, by loads of different artists.

Rufus Wainwright does a great cover of that song.
I heard Rufus play that song live last summer in Boston. It was ethereal. There's this unknown artist called Ari Hest that also does a great cover of Hallelujah.
