That's the one that blows my mind. I remember back right around your time...a pizza at full menu price is basically the same price as now. Factor in inflation then do a 50% off deal...egads. Result: They suck.

BTW, Amiga 3000 was the best; except for that damn ZIP memory.
I never heard of this damn ZIP memory you are referring to, and I read many Amiga articles and none of them mention this. Now are are actually talking about FAST memory? From I understand the Amiga platform is shared memory one and FAST RAM was just a way to give the chipset its own memory, freeing up the main memory for the CPU.

But I never owned a Classic Amiga.

It was the form package.

PITA to install.

I got a bidet last black friday. Best investment ever. I now regret not doing it sooner (srs).

which one and is it still going strong (meaning--last year BF, or just a few weeks ago)? I will be getting one soon, but I'm worried about a cheap bidet blowing chinese lead up my anus

I AM looking at a cheap bidet, but it's getting pretty good reviews:

Luxe Bidet Neo 185 (Elite Series) - Self Cleaning Dual Nozzle - Fresh Water Non-Electric Mechanical Bidet Toilet Attachment w/ Strong Faucet Valves and Metal Hoses (white and white)

If I get that I figure to also get the T-adaptor below because my water pressure is 90-95PSI, beyond the 30-70PSI recommended by the company (I posted a question for the bidet). What do you'all think?

Seller posted this in answer to a question concerning excess water pressure:

Our bidets will generally work with water pressures of 30 to 70 psi. If you find the water pressure is too high, you can install one of our Luxe Metal T-adapters with shut-off valve that could help regulate the water flow going in to the bidet.

I think the concern with too much pressure is that the fittings will leak.

Luxe Bidet Metal T-adapter with Shut-off Valve, Winged 3-way Tee Connector, Chrome Finish, for Luxe Neo Bidets

No, he is talking about ZIP memory. It was a weird form factor used in the A3000:

Back before SIMMs became a thing, RAM was typically installed into sockets on the motherboard using DIP packages. That took quite a bit of real estate so ZIP was an early attempt to install RAM vertically to save motherboard space.

It was the Costco one they put on sale for Black Friday every year for $219. Currently $400, which is still a decent price compared to other ones with similar features. Good ones are a MAJOR investment, but it's like buying a memory foam mattress...just makes your life soooo much better lol:

Got it a year ago & still works great! Features:

* Blue LED bowl light for nighttime use
* Heated seat (amazing in the winter)
* Heated water
* Oscillating nozzle (goes back & forth)

The built-in hairdryer is pretty useless. Don't buy one without a water heater, you don't want to get zapped with cold water lol. This one has a wireless remote control with a wall-mount, as well as a seat sensor so the water can't just squirt onto the floor or wall without someone sitting on it. I was pretty hesitant even at $220, but my friends who have them swear by them lol. Benefits include better cleanliness & reduced TP usage. Also useful if you have IBS. Or eat at Taco Bell. So far, it's worked well for a good year now, no issues. It's kind of like keyless entry...once you have it, you'll never want to go back haha!

That's what I keep seeing. Funny thing is, I live in America, my family is well-to-do, generally pretty well traveled, and I have yet to see much less use a bidet. I'm kind of chagrined about this, somewhat embarrassed to even think about it but the testimonials (too terse, always!) are undeniably eye opening. So, like I say, to bidet or not bidet, that is the question! :)

Honestly after using one for the past year, I have no idea why we don't have them in America as standard equipment in homes, especially given how poor most of our diets are, lol. It's cleaner & it uses less toilet paper. Great long-term investment!

But it's like... kinda gay, or something? I guess?
I don't have one myself either, but can see taking the plunge after I move.

the one that you posted won't work for me, because it requires a plug-in, and I have really old bathrooms--tiny one without a single outlet, and the other, the one outlet is across from the toilet, on the wall, between the sink and the mirror. Also, this doesn't work on the rounded bowls (one of mine is that type).

I was thinking about the cheaper ones, the warm water option that is unpowered and uses the hot water feed for the sink...but that also doesn't work in the downstairs bathroom because I don't want to run the water along all the walls, just to travel the ~2 feet across the room.

Make a commitment to your anal cleanliness and get an outlet installed, man! :colbert:

I plan on having them on all toilets when I move.

It was extremely weird to use for the first few days. Eventually you get used to it...it's kind of like when you get so sick to your stomach that you have to hose off in the shower, except built into the seat. It's awesome lol.

They have both round & elongated bowl shapes available on the Costco model.

imo it would be worth getting an outlet installed for it...heated seat, night light, heated water, etc. All that's missing is a Bluetooth speaker haha!

What I'm seeing there is the choice of two, the one for elongated and the other is for rounded bowls. I'll keep my eyes open for the $219 BF deal there. Meantime I may get the Luxe 185 off Amazon, now at $38. The water does get cool here in the winter, but probably never below 40F. I could forgo using it when it's real cold. 8 months out of the year the water would be 50+F. Or 60+.

Guess that could substitute for a cup of coffee in the morning.
