The more a movie is hyped..the more I don't want to watch it

Anyone else have this mindset when it comes to movies?

Give me a movie that has a bunch of actors that i've never seen before and barely any trailers..i'll watch the shit out of it. Maybe I'm getting old.

I have this mindset when it comes to advertising period. I don't watch a movie just because an actor is in it and I don't want to ever feel like I was suckered by an ad and will avoid products I feel are being pushed down my throat. I will also root for and support the little guy in most scenarios be it sports or business.

Since I don't watch TV or listen to radio beyond talk radio, I rarely see media blitz advertising campaigns which over hype movies anymore.

yea all of this

I usually read reviews.

Honest Trailers is fun though 🙂

I usually look there about once a month to see what they have done that is new.

I don't mind hype, sometimes movies that are good are preceded by a lot of hype (Guardians of the Galaxy comes to mind).

Plus this isn't the 90's anymore, the industry of thinky and quality independent films is almost dead. If you are watching a movie that isn't hyped it might be B roll garbage.

If Keithtalent hypes a movie, I am interested in seeing it.

If a movie gets a big marketing budget and they make advertisements, then I more or less ignore it.
