In the past week or two I've found 4-5 dead moles around my property. I didn't look at any of them real closely, but none of them looked like they had been killed by a predator. In fact, nothing at all looked wrong with them, other than the fact that they were dead.

I don't live near any sources of pollution or anything obvious that I would think would have adverse affects on wildlife.

Should I try to contact someone (biologist, etc.) to see if they can tell what is going on?

Not me or my wife. We've only lived here a year, so maybe there are some leftovers from the previous owner?

If that's the case, you would have seen dead moles when you moved in, not now. Were they all in the same area or scattered around your property?

Scattered around. There was one area where I found 2 within a few feet of each other, but otherwise they were scattered over 5 acres.

The worms on your property called in a mole strike. Flaming sheep are next.

I am unsure of exactly what this is... but it came up when I googled dead moles.

I am still reading it.

Sounds like a fun game they play.

"Another group of moles can be found rushing through math problem sets, blockading dorm rooms, traveling in time, and just about any other activity except sleeping. The residents of the Blacker Hovse are popularly known as the "moles" of Caltech, a name perhaps taken because of their intensive tunneling efforts."

I'm wishing I went to Caltech, now.

That big cave you found is emitting ancient caveman farts bottled up.

Have you used a geiger counter on yourself recently?

They are commiting acts of suicide due to depression caused by the loss of their yellow jacketed friends.

You should take some of them into your garage, and perform an autopsy on them.

It's probably this.
