Anybody been watching the new Military Channel? It's had some great shows so far and my DVR's been working overtime. Last night was a show on Pearl Harbor and they've had plenty of WWII documentaries on one called "Battlefront" I think it is.

It was formerly the Discovery Wings channel.

I caught that at my parents house last weekend. The science channel seems like it's overrun with commercials, so I started watching that.

Great shows there.

I wish they'd create a World War II channel, and put all the WWII shows on it. Then maybe I could watch the History Channel again.

Not that I don't like WWII shows, it's just that the History Channel may as well be called the WWII channel. Everytime I turn it on it's another WWII show. Whatever happened to all the other good shows on the History Channel?

I've been watching the ones on fighter planes and things like that. Pretty neat on the Military channel.

I was soooo happy when I heard about the change. Wings was the only Discovery Channel that I didn't watch. Now I can watch them all! I mean seriously... how can you have a channel completely dedicated to planes?

Ah it replaced Discovery Wings, no wonder I couldn't find it! My cable box thing still lists it as Discovery Wings in the guide menu, but the channel obviously displays the Military Channel logo.

Oh I love Modern Marvels. Sometimes though, it just seems like they are stretching trying to find an interesting subject. :)

Indeed.

I was strangely gripped by the "Metals" episode last night.
I have no idea why.

:Q Blasphemy, boy! I really wish there was a channel devoted only to WWII. There certainly is enough material for it. I can see your point though if you want to see other history related programs.

Even though half of the shows are recruitment tools I still love the watch it. The one about the WWI fighters has been my favorite.

My brother calls it the Hitler channel because of THC's tendency to run a lot of WWII -German related stuff late at night.

Hahaha. Just so happens I am fascinated with the Axis powers of the time and mainly Germany so it suits me fine!
