Fixed.
The same as the Republicans. Hell a lot of them are getting Rich(er) because of our hardships.Hey... the Democrats understand our hardship during this recession.
They understand it from their $7 million luxery boats.
They understand it from their $2 million weddings.
Don't tell them they don't fucking understand. Don't you dare.

Because the Democrats aspire to be like the Republicans. Both parties are ruled by the same class of people and aren't that different except who they lie too to get elected. But the Republicans are supposedly the "Party of the Rich"... The Dems are supposedly the People's Champions...
Why are the majority of the richest members of congress Democrats? 8 out of the top 10 are D.
Why were the only 15 people who voted *against* taking a congressional pay freeze this year Democrats?
I know some people will jump all over me for saying this, but free trade was a mistake of biblical proportions. As you say, it was a ploy by the wealthy to ensure themselves more money and security.

That's the problem with the Dem vs. Repub thing. The vast majority of the politicians of both parties are extremely wealthy compared to the average American. They can honestly say that free trade benefits them in their America. Their children don't serve in the military. They're the ones hiring the illegal immigrants and keeping them coming over the border.
The only reason I vote Democrat at this point is because they're a lot less likely to start yet another war. Otherwise, I see very little difference in the overall scheme of things.
To their credit, the Democrats have been a lot better at making sure the little people get a few crumbs from the wealthy Americans' wheelings and dealings. Republicans have long since given up on the crumbs and switched to handing out faith based bullshit and false patriotism since its mindnumbing and free.
By that measure, the Democrats are the People's Champions, but in reality, its completely meaningless.
Where are all the right-wingers in this thread? How come they're not telling us how GREAT the free market is?
According to some on these forums (don't want to name any names), if 150 million American workers just got the "right attitude," every single one of them could be wealthy, even though their Chinese and Indian counterparts are willing to do everything Americans can do for pennies on the dollar. Really, the free market is magic. Ya just gotta believe.
The Middle Class RADICALLY shinking
Better late than never. In addition is seems the Right has embraced these trade agreements themselves so it's not such a Left Right thing as it is who can profit the most from it.So Ross Perot and Pat Buchanan (both Right wingers) were right and on NAFTA back when everyone else (almost every liberal dem politician and supporter of NAFTA) were calling them racists, ant-global economy, protectionist" and "conservative" were dead wrong. Yet now you guys want to hop on the band wagon now that its swung the other direction.

Actually, you still have GM able to purchase from cheaper markets, and sell here, but the profit from that transaction stays where it was earned. Capital level in the host country grows, and in the long-run that means more domestic investment, better productivity, and higher wages.Okay, so instead of GM outsource work to their GM plant in China, they outsource work to a Chinese company in China to avoid any tax levied on profits repatriation. In addition to labor lost, you lost some of the profit that would have gone to GM American shareholders. Great idea.
Taxing isn't the idea. But yes, I would outlaw Apple taking American money to China for the sole purpose of exploiting the cheap labour to be had in countries that do not have high levels of capital. This is exactly the problem of offshore manufacturing.Or are you going to outlaw companies like Apple from outsourcing their entire manufacturing to Foxconn/China (for example)? Are you going to look at every company's supply/manufacturing chain and if any part is not in the US gets heavily taxed?
Don't be retarded.Or better yet, why not just nationalize the whole country and make sure all American gets 6 figure salary, full pension and total health coverage. And before you say you don't want your tax money to pay for that, why should private shareholder's money be used to ensure American middle class lives comfortably?
What about the government invest in some domestic project and not some BS foreign nation building that could have hire lots of local American middle class labor? Isn't it government's job to ensure social/economic structure is sound, including a healthy/growing middle class?
