The media has officially gone overboard

This is not intended to be a repost, but I'm at a loss for words for how the media has handled this latest national incident. The release of the videos and pictures that this nutcase sent NBC shows the level our media outlets are willing to stoop to in order to get a competitive advantage or to have "NBC exclusive" displayed on every channel. With the advent of sites like Youtube and other online news publications, has the mass media resorted to similar tactics a 15 year old blogger would post on youtube for instant hits?
This isn't relegated to NBC, I mean Fox news has an entire story on their front page asking if the "devil" could have been responsible for this shooting!!! If that isn't catering to the most fringe of readers, I don't know what is... And how could they write a story like this and pass it off as news?

The devil made him do it

It's not news, it's an editorial. Leave it to Faux News to give it a front page display with a controversial headline.

OH and another point, how would you all react if they released a video of the Columbine killers two freaking days after the incident? That would have NEVER happened back then... Did NBC even bother to consult with law enforcement/criminal psychologists to see what effect releasing this type of media could have on copycat nutcases that want their 15 minutes of fame too? I mean TWO freaking days after 33 people die and we are getting up close and personal with this f*cker, who in the end got the last laugh by pointing his two pistols to billions of people worldwide.

So...Faux News is made up and fictional? Care to put your money where your mouth is? Alot of Fox's programming IS editorial, and is marketed as such. But the news part? Its ****** news.

NBC did consult with the FBI and Virginia police before releasing it.

They also didn't release everything, leaving out some things that were too disturbing or inappropriate for TV.
