My wife was driving the car and was pulling into a parking spot when some asshat in a lifted truck backed out into the side of our car. He said he didn't see her. WELL, I GUESS MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE RAISED YOUR STUPID TRUCK THEN!!!

Oh well, at least he had insurance. He will be paying for it. I hope they raise his rates. Fvcker. :|

Squeeze the pennies out of the asshats!

How come most people start their defense with "I didn't see" ? :|

I had a quasi-similar incident where I was backing out of a spot with zero visibility and backed into a car where the other driver decided it'd be better if instead of stepping on his brakes, he would floor it around me. Nevermind that he probably was already speeding, but naturally, the fault lies with me, and my insurance pays. :disgust:

Yeah, she was barely moving though and pulling into a parking spot opposite from where he was backing out of. Those raised trucks are a liability. I can't see why any insurance company would insure a vehicle like that for street use. I'm going to let his insurance company know that his vehicle is raised significantly. :|

Good to hear that she is all right.

Yes, she is fine. Just a minor incident, the Maxima took all the punishment. :(

That car was pristine. 2003, not a mark on it. Less than 20,000 miles on it. :(

Before crunch.

Sorry, no after crunch pics yet. Maybe later.

Sorry, I didn't know she was your wife: link

Just got off the phone with Ins investigator, he was of the opinion we were in good shape since she was going the wrong way. Won't know for a couple of days though...

Because they probably wouldn't have continued driving if they had seen whatever they were about to hit.

She wasn't anywhere near a Sam's club and certainly nowhere near Texas. Must have been a different person you backed into.

What's the problem with lifted trucks and backing out? I don't know about you, but in my tall truck, my mirrors (all 3 of them), tilt down a bit so I can still see the road behind me at all angles.

I can also turn around in my seat and look down to see if anyone is there.

It has nothing to do with what the other person was driving. It has to do with failing to look, thats all.

I have no idea on what kind of truck you have, but most BIG trucks will have at least two pretty good blind spots to low sports cars, if you are talking a 1 or 2" lift or 33's or 34's that ain't tall.

Also I know several trucks that you cannot see directly behind unless the gate is down and even then you could miss a miata type car directly behind you...hence why vidcams out back are popular now.

Not a good time to be driving a Maxima, I guess. I got slammed in my '97 on July 10th by a guy who never even hit his brakes before he ran into the back of my car. The good folks at All State won't even look at my car until July 21st. He hit me hard enough that it may even be a total.

If they (all state) stall with paying up, I'm going to go f'ing nuts.

Why? They decide his car wasn't street legal for some reason and then denies coverage on that. Then you get stuck with the problem.

She's fine. It was a minor fender bender, or in this case, a door bender.

I got my Maxima in a minor accident with a deer. A dumb deer ran into my right fender, door and it even broke the door mirror. I had to pay $1,300 to repair the damages. :(
