Maury is a piece of flaming dog crap. Not only does he incite conflict among his guests, he also has the freak circus of guests with special disabilities or conditions under the guise of "don't make fun of me" and giving them gifts and wishes. It's utterly disgusting. Very few talk show hosts are even remotely respectable.
His audience, I have to say, are a bunch of idiots. They ALWAYS boo the men even before they find out the results, and they NEVER boo the women accusing the men when they're wrong.
One other thing most poeple don't know: Maury (and others) structure their shows to be in two parts to increase viewership so that they can sell more ads. How? Well, most of his paternity shows start out with a paternity question, and they reveal the results. Then they don't reveal it for the second or any subsequent set of guests. So what he does is he leaves his audience in a cliffhanger and makes them watch BOTH shows. In addition to selling and exposing his viewers to more ads this way, he also cheaps out and reduces his costs for producing his show since the two-part shows are filmed on the same day with minimal overhead and no need to keep the guests an additional day. What a great humanitarian. :|
